Energy Conservation Supply (ECS) was founded in 1977 by Gerald Henning and his business partner in Gerald’s garage. It started by taking on various labor jobs, from concrete pouring to pipe installations, and within a year the company experienced significant growth. This prompted a move to Main Street in Joplin, MO, marking a new milestone for ECS.
In the mid-1980s, ECS relocated to its current location at 3740 E. 20th Street in Joplin, MO. During this time, Gerald Henning became the sole owner of the company, shifting the company’s focus toward boilers and burners because he recognized their significance as the heartbeat of the industrial world.
A Family Legacy of Boiler Expertise
The Henning family’s commitment to the boiler industry has spanned generations. In 1995, Keith Henning, Gerald’s son, joined ECS after graduating from Pittsburg State University. Keith’s expertise and enthusiasm for the business propelled ECS’s growth and success. Additionally, Keith’s wife Leslie serves as the Office Manager, who seamlessly manages the company’s day-to-day operations. The family’s dedication to providing exceptional service continues to drive ECS forward. 2020 was a big year for the Henning’s. They welcomed the next generation to ECS with the addition of Caden Cristy and Layne Henning. Caden quickly earned his place as both Service Manager and son-in-law. Keith and Leslie’s son Layne immersed himself in the inner workings of the company. With a passion inherited from his father and grandfather, Layne contributes his skills and knowledge to the company’s ongoing endeavors. This blending of expertise and shared passion solidifies ECS’s commitment to delivering excellence.
